On the day of the NBA's first draft lottery, Dave DeBusschere attends mass near his Long Island home. The New York Knicks head of basketball operations says some prayers, like he always does.

"And then I thought, I'll be a little selfish and ask for Patrick Ewing in the lottery," DeBusschere says.
