Texas now leads series 39-16-1
WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Mark Pierce rushed for 125 yards and two touchdowns, helping Texas defeat Oklahoma 14-2 on Saturday night in the 64th Oil Bowl.
The victory improves Texas' series record to 39-16-1 over Oklahoma. It was the second consecutive victory for Texas.
Pierce's 70-yard jaunt on the third play of the second half sealed the victory for Texas, which held Oklahoma to 29 yards on 35 carries. He ran 9 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter.
