Olla dies from Alzheimer's complications
MILWAUKEE -- Ted Olla Sr., a boxer who was beaten by Sugar Ray Robinson in 1955, died at 71.
Olla died Wednesday at Lakewood Care Center in Milwaukee of complications from Alzheimer's disease, said his son, Ted Olla.
Robinson, one of boxing's greats, was making a comeback when he stopped Olla in the third round. After the loss, Olla retired from boxing and became a Las Vegas poker dealer.
Olla began fighting professionally six years before the bout
