McClatchy says he has interviewed two candidates

PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Pirates owner Kevin McClatchy has no timetable for picking a new general manager and will conduct several rounds of interviews to choose one.

McClatchy said Monday he has interviewed two candidates, neither of whom he identified. One is known to be Houston Astros assistant general manager Tim Purpura, who met with McClatchy in Houston last week.
