Spencer shatters the track record
Spencer BROOKLYN, Mich. -- Jimmy Spencer set a track record Friday in winning the pole for the NASCAR Busch Series NAPA 250 at Michigan International Speedway.
Spencer, a full-time Winston Cup competitor who took over James Finch's Chevrolet five races into the Busch season, has two wins in nine starts with the team.
Spencer's lap of 184.824 mph Friday was good enough to beat Ryan Newman. The race is Saturday.
