Belisle wins historic No. 696

WOONSOCKET, R.I. -- Bill Belisle doesn't care what his players think of his tough coaching style. The effect he has on their futures is far too important to him.

"They hate my guts when they're here, but they realize I reach them and they've really improved," the 72-year-old Mount St. Charles Academy coach said in a raspy voice. "I make men out of them. I chew them out not because I hate them but because I want perfection, and I want them to be gentlemen off the ice."
