Deeper Buffaloes too much for Southern

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) -- Southern coach Sandy Pugh said her team lost to Colorado because of one simple reason: "They shot the devil out of the ball."

Her own team's shooting, by contrast, was diabolically poor.

Colorado, the No. 3 seed, shot 59 percent compared to Southern's 31 percent, and the Buffaloes overwhelmed Southern 88-61 in an NCAA women's West Regional first-round game Friday night.
