Boston writers win big in boxing awards

Ron Borges of The Boston Globe won two first-place awards and shared a third in the Boxing Writers Association of America writing contest.

Borges won in event coverage for his story on Vinny Paz's loss to Aaron Davis, and for a feature on an interview with Mike Tyson.

Borges and George Kimball of the Boston Herald shared first place honors for best news story: both wrote about Don King wooing heavyweight Hasim Rahman away from Cedric Kushner.
