Clark faces uncertain future

It's unclear what the future holds for Dwight Clark, who resigned as vice president of the Browns.

Even as he reiterated that he and Butch Davis remain close friends, deposed Cleveland Browns vice president Dwight Clark acknowledged his resignation from the franchise was precipitated by the structural alterations the first-year coach enacted during the 2001 season.

Primary among the changes, Clark strongly suggested, was the emergence of Pete Garcia as Davis' top lieutenant, a position he had also held at the University of Miami.
