Octopus-throwing tradition still has legs

The tradition of tossing octopi on the ice after goals remains strong among Red Wings fans.

Don't be surprised if an octopus flies onto the ice at the Colorado Avalanche's Pepsi Center after a Red Wings goal.

Catering to Red Wings fans who can't wait for the team to return home to Joe Louis Arena, the Detroit-based Superior Fish Co. has prepared at least one 8-pound octopus that figures to be tossed at either Game 3 or 4 of the Western Conference finals in Denver.
