BOULDER, Colo., May 22 -- The best players in the state met me at the University of Colorado, where I had lunch with offensive coordinator Shawn Watson, co-defensive coordinator and DB coach Tom McMahon and coordinator of football operations David Hansburg.

The top prospect in Colorado may be TB/ATH Lenny Miles (6-0, 187) of Commerce City's Adams City H.S., who's also being recruited by Syracuse in basketball as a point guard. He was injured as a junior, but as a sophomore he rushed for more than 2,000 yards.

If Miles isn't the state's No. 1 recruit, then it's TB Lendale White (6-2, 230) of Littleton's Chatfield H.S., a big back with speed and strength who can break tackles. He's currently on my national Top 100 list, and among the schools recruiting him are Texas, USC, Oregon, Georgia Tech and Michigan.
