Allegations not tied into medical treatment of team

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- The state medical board filed complaints against the San Jose Sharks' team doctor, who also has treated Barry Bonds, Jerry Rice and other famous athletes.

Following a 1½-year probe, the board accused orthopedic surgeon Arthur J. Ting of allowing aides to act as doctors and writing illegal prescriptions, the San Jose Mercury News reported Tuesday.
