Lions will get cap space, Stewart gets a roster spot
Representatives for the Detroit Lions and James Stewart reached agreement Tuesday on a long-discussed contract restructuring, finishing a negotiation that actually began more than three months ago.
The reworked contract grants the club cap relief in each of the next two seasons and also ensures a place on the roster for the seven-year veteran tailback.
