RB Jones transferring to hometown team

Freshman running back Cory Jones of Seattle-Kennedy, Wash., is planning on transferring from Notre Dame to Washington. Considered a Top 150 prospect in Class 2001, he did not play for the Irish last season. Sophomore quarterback Matt LoVecchio of Franklin Lakes-Bergen Catholic, N.J., a backup last season after leading the Irish to seven straight wins and a Fiesta Bowl berth as a freshman, earlier decided to transfer.
