Top five finishers in each sport will get paid

INDIANAPOLIS -- USA Track & Field will distribute a record $451,500 in prize money at next week's U.S. outdoor championships at Stanford University.

The sport's national governing body will award prizes to the top five finishers in each individual Olympic event, with $4,000 going to the winner, $3,000 to second place, $2,000 to third, $1,000 to fourth and $500 to fifth.
