Michael Johnson isn't easy to replace

STANFORD, Calif. -- "Someone's got to step up."

That was the assessment made by Clyde Hart, Michael Johnson's longtime coach, earlier this year about the U.S. crisis in the men's 400 meters, an event that used to be as American as baseball.
