All-Star MVP award to be named after Ted Williams

MILWAUKEE -- Baseball's All-Star MVP award will be named after Hall of Famer Ted Williams, who died last week at age 83.

The first winner of the Ted Williams Award will be picked after Tuesday night's game at Miller Park, Major League Baseball announced Monday.

"Ted Williams meant so much to the All-Star Game, it's only fitting to name the MVP award after him," commissioner Bud Selig told USA Today.
