Reds get OF Bichette from Rockies for OF Hammonds, P Belinda

CINCINNATI (Ticker) -- The Cincinnati Reds acquired outfielder Dante Bichette from the Colorado Rockies in a trade today that ends Greg Vaughn's tenure with the Reds and begins a possible housecleaning in Denver.

The Rockies obtained outfielder Jeffrey Hammonds and veteran reliever Stan Belinda for Bichette, who hit 34 homers and drove in 133 runs last season.

Colorado also sent the cost-conscious Reds $1.9 million to make up the difference in salaries for the players next season. ...
