Burton making strides in the standings
It'll be about the halfway point in Sunday's Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway, and if he's fortunate enough to be in the lead at the time, Jeff Burton will likely look up at the sky and say, "Rain, baby, rain."
The driver of the No. 99 Ford is hoping for a case of déjà vu Sunday. It was in 1999 when the South Boston, Va., native won both races at the historic South Carolina track -- his only wins there -- and both were aided and shortened by wet weather.
