Statue of distance runner knocked off its base

BOULDER, Colo. -- A life-size bronze statue of Olympian Frank Shorter has been knocked off its base outside Folsom Field at the University of Colorado.

The $50,000 statue, honoring the two-time Olympian and co-founder of the Bolder Boulder 10-kilometer race, was erected in May 1998 on the school's campus, several hundred meters from the race's finish line.
