Four selected to drive in Europe

LE BEAUSSET, France -- Paul Edwards, Grant Maiman, Joel Nelson and Scott Speed earned fully funded auto racing rides in Europe for next year as part of a new program designed to get Americans into Formula One.

Danny Sullivan, a former F1 and Indy car driver who won the 1985 Indianapolis 500, set up the program.

Thirteen drivers, between 16 and 24, were invited to the Paul Ricard Tech Test Track for several days of physical and psychological tests.
