Roma advances after draw with AEK Athens
LONDON -- Basel thrillingly became the first Swiss side to reach the Champions League second phase on Tuesday, while Inter Milan and AS Roma ensured that four Italian teams qualified for the next stage for the first time.
Basel achieved the draw the club needed against Liverpool to qualify from Group B but was hanging on desperately at St. Jakob Park after the English side fought back from 3-0 down at halftime to draw 3-3 in the game of the night.
