Von Gruenigen wins giant slalom; Eberharter injured

VAL D'ISERE, France -- Stephan Eberharter damaged his knee Sunday when he crashed during a World Cup giant slalom in which Michael Von Gruenigen of Switzerland finished first and Bode Miller of the United States was second.

Eberharter, the overall World Cup defending champion, was flown to Innsbruck, Austria, where doctors said he might be able to compete at the world championships in February in Switzerland.
