Rudge fills position left by death of Thompson
VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- Chris Rudge, a former professional lacrosse player and publishing executive, was hired Friday as the new chief executive of the Canadian Olympic Committee.
He filled the position left vacant by the death of Jim Thompson from a heart attack in August.
Rudge takes over the COC as Vancouver is competing to host the
2010 Winter Games against Salzburg, Austria, and Pyeongchang, South
Korea. The International Olympic Committee is scheduled to announce
