It's a long, bumpy road to New York

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla -- About a 16-hour drive south of the Big Apple, the Road to New York begins for NASCAR's best -- one of whom, 10 months from now, will be crowned Winston Cup champion.

And though that road will surely take that driver over many unpredictable bumps and potholes, its general direction has been mapped by the champions of the past.
