Wimbledon warm-up tourney scrapped
LONDON -- A burgeoning Wimbledon warm-up event was torn from Britain's sporting calendar on Thursday when tennis chiefs refused to budge over a rule which restricts where leading players can compete.
Liverpool International Tennis Tournament promoter Anders Borg said he had "little choice" in scrapping plans for the event won last year by Marat Safin, due to an ATP directive.
