Massu grows confident in level of play
VALENCIA, Spain -- Nicolas Massu's confidence is returning at just the right time.
The Chilean clay-court specialist ousted eighth-seeded Spaniard David Sanchez, 6-4, 6-3, on Wednesday in the second round of the $400,000 Valencia Open.
Massu began the year with four straight first-round losses but has won nine of his past 12 matches. The run includes a runner-up effort at last week's Bermuda Challenger event and the quarterfinals at Casablanca earlier this month.
