Rogge surprised by Ireland's SARS-related decision
MADRID, Spain -- IOC president Jacques Rogge expressed surprise Saturday in Ireland's decision to ban athletes from five SARS-hit countries from competing in next month's Special Olympics.
Rogge, who has urged sports organizations not to overreact to the threat of severe acute respiratory syndrome, said there was no reason to discriminate against athletes from countries affected by the virus.
