Boston's closer-by-committee was quickly pared down to a pair. Manager Grady Little now favors Chad Fox and Brandon Lyon in the ninth. Lyon wasn't the only fill-in to find regular work in the first month. These five guys saved their managers from chugging Rolaids when big-name closers went down.

Tim Worrell, RH, Giants
Worrell's success as a setup man last year helped make San Francisco's pen the NL's best in the second half. Now he's filling in beautifully for 300-save closer Robb Nen, who'll be out until at least midseason after undergoing two shoulder surgeries since November. In his first three weeks as Giants closer, the 35-year-old Worrell doubled his career total of seven saves. Only another 239 and he'll catch up to his older brother, Todd.
