Sidelined by sprained knee, scratched from slated start
Los Angeles Dodgers: Pitcher Darren Dreifort, making a successful comeback following his second "Tommy John" surgery, was placed on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday
retroactive to May 29 because of a sprained medial collateral ligament in his right knee.
The Dodgers replaced Dreifort on their active roster by recalling left-hander Victor Alvarez from Triple-A Las Vegas. Dreifort underwent reconstructive surgery on his pitching elbow in July 2001, and didn't pitch again until this season. It ...
