Hammon a handful for foes this season

New York has always been a perennial power in the East. The Liberty have one of the league's best coaches on their bench and four former all-stars on their roster.

But reserve guard Becky Hammon also deserves a nod for her part in keeping the Liberty in the limelight.

Hammon, a 5-foot-6 guard and five-year veteran, is averaging 17.3 points, which ranks seventh in the WNBA, in 26.4 minutes per game. Hammon also tops the league in efficiency, ranking first (25.7) in points per 40 ...
