Cleveland Browns: DE Courtney Brown's comeback from microfracture surgery is not progressing as quickly as the team hoped. Brown took part in limited individual drills in last week's minicamp, but not nearly as many as coach Butch Davis would have liked. The plan now is to bring him along slowly in training camp, and nobody is sure when he'll be ready to practice. "It might take the whole first week for him to get into a team thing," Davis Akron Beacon-Journal. "It may be that we test him in one-on-one pass rush with the offensive linemen and individual stuff and he may light it up and get after it from the get-go."

Atlanta Falcons: The club reached agreements with three more draft choices Wednesday as WR Jon Olinger, DB Waine Bacon and DL Demetrin Veal signed three-year contracts. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Olinger, a fifth-round draft choice from the University of Cincinnati, got a signing bonus of about $109,000 to make his deal worth about $1.02 million. Bacon, a sixth-round pick out of Alabama, got a bonus of about $56,000 to make his deal worth about $966,000, and Veal, a seventh-rounder from Tennessee, signed for about $29,000 as part of a deal worth about $939,000. Only the bonuses are guaranteed money; the rest is contingent upon the rookies earning a roster spot.
