Golden State Warriors: The disgruntled Warriors are preparing for life without restricted free agent Gilbert Arenas. "Let's put it this way: We're not in an ideal situation,'' Warriors general manager Garry St. Jean said in the San Jose Mercury News. "We're not here to tell you that we know the answer today." Chances are, Arenas will take more money from a team that has more salary-cap space than the Warriors. Which leaves St. Jean the unenviable task of trying to replace Arenas with a limited budget and limited options. "I don't want to put the weight of the world on that draft pick," St. Jean said. "Take a hypothetical that Gilbert does leave: How many rookies come in and pick up where a guy like that left off? That answer is not going to be there next Thursday. That's how much respect I have for Gilbert and how bright I think his future is. Again, I'm hoping like heck it's with us."

Chicago Bulls: The Chicago Bulls will release more information today regarding the status of point guard Jay Williams, who was injured in a motorcycle crash Thursday night in Chicago. One source told the Chicago Tribune that his situation was "not good" noting a broken leg and additional injuries to the pelvic area. "I'm not worried about the team or what this does for our future," head coach Bill Cartwright said. "I'm just worried about Jay. I'm worried about the severity of his injury for his career. We just have to wait and see. Our thoughts are with him."
