Stewart strong at Chicagoland

JOLIET, Ill. -- It was a perfect day on a perfect race track ... and just about as close to a perfect performance as Tony Stewart could get.

The defending Winston Cup champion started the race from the pole, led the most laps (80 of 267), finished second to Ryan Newman in the Tropicana 400 at Chicagoland Speedway, picked up 58 points on points leader Matt Kenseth and moved up three places and into the top-10 in the Winston Cup standings.
