Foster took direct hit on the mask from pitch
MONTREAL -- Umpire Marty Foster was recovering at home Monday from a mild concussion and strained neck after being hit on the mask by a pitch during an Expos-Marlins game.
"I feel like I've been in a car wreck," Foster said from Beloit, Wis.
Foster was hit on the mask by a rising pitch from Montreal's Britt Reames in the fourth inning of Montreal's 11-4 loss to Florida on Sunday. The ball sailed by the glove of catcher Michael Barrett and was ruled a passed ball.
