Bullett's absence, weak draft hurt Mystics

Last season is most remembered for Los Angeles' run to its second consecutive WNBA title, but Washington also left its mark on 2002.

The Mystics reached the Eastern Conference finals. Chamique Holdsclaw led the league in scoring and rebounding during one stretch of the season. And the franchise also produced the coach and most improved player of the year.

In one brief season, the Mystics went from mediocrity to magical.
