Despite what many perceived to be a gaping hole at quarterback, Cowboys coach Bill Parcells wasn't interested in going after a free agent like Brian Griese or Ray Lucas because he said "I'm not interested in a quarterback that I think can get me to 8-8."

Well, after getting an extended look at Quincy Carter and Chad Hutchinson, .500 must be looking like an oasis in the Sahara.

Parcells admitted Tuesday that he doesn't know if either Carter or Hutchinson is capable of being a starting-caliber quarterback in the NFL. After poor performances by both in the Cowboys' preseason opener, Parcells is considering pushing back his self-imposed deadline of next week for picking a starter.
