New York Rangers: Mark Messier said he just had to think hard about his future this summer before deciding whether to play his 25th NHL season. "I will be showing up again one more time," the Rangers captain told New York media before adding that it won't necessarily be his final season. Colorado Avalanche: One-third of one of the NHL's most explosive lines remains unsigned and might not make it for the start of Colorado's training camp. Restricted free agent Alex Tanguay's agent, Bob Sauve, told the Rocky Mountain News that he and the Avalanche plan to talk again. Toronto Maple Leafs: The Toronto Maple Leafs finally have closure with Robert Svehla after he agreed to sign retirement papers Thursday. The team isn't jumping into any free agent signings with the extra money, however, until it sees the papers for itself.
