Chicago White Sox: Scott Gregor of the Arlington Heights Daily Herald reports that Robbie Alomar was set to return to the White Sox for $3 million on a one-year contract until his agent stepped in and asked for two. Now general manager Kenny Williams might be content to let Willie Harris hold down second base. If so, he'll be backed up by Jose Uribe, just arrived from Colorado via trade to fill the utility infielder role abandoned by Tony Graffanino. Uribe is only 24, a rather young age to be relegated to a life of utility.
