Oklahoma was invincible (12-0) and Jason White was a Heisman lock (40:6 TD-to-INT ratio). Then White threw 0 TDs and two picks, and the Sooners got whupped by Kansas State. Now, say Trev Alberts and Mark May, a slew of trophy contenders are nipping at White's cleats.

TREV SAYS: He's the best player in the country, period. And no player embodies the Heisman, on and off the field, more than Fitzgerald. There's no denying his numbers (1,595 yards) and impact on defenses. But I think Pittsburgh's 8-4 record and the voters' reluctance to pick a sophomore could hold him back.
