Parise leads unbeaten Americans past Russia

HELSINKI, Finland -- The unbeaten United States advanced to the semifinals of hockey's world junior championships, defeating Russia 4-1 Wednesday behind Zach Parise's two goals and an assist.

Canada also reached the semifinals, downing the Czech Republic 5-2. Also, Finland downed Switzerland 2-0 and Slovakia edged Sweden 1-0.

On Saturday, the United States will meet the winner of a Friday's quarterfinal between Finland and Russia. Canada will meet the Slovakia-Czech Republic winner.
