Four years added for president/CEO

BOSTON -- Boston Red Sox president and chief executive officer Larry Lucchino signed an extension to remain with the team through 2011, owner John Henry said Monday night.

The deal adds four years to Lucchino's contract.

"They said 'We'd like you to stay; we'd like you to stay for a long time,' " Lucchino said at the annual dinner of the Boston chapter of the Baseball Writers Association of America.
