Fisheries in Peril

ATLANTA, Ga. — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is using a 2001 Supreme Court decision defining "isolated" wetlands as a way to circumvent the foundation of the 1972 Clean Water Act.

The problem is particularly acute in Georgia, Texas and several other states that do not have their own programs to protect isolated wetlands.
