Ottawa Senators: Ottawa doesn't want to get left out of the fire sale in Washington and it could mean Capitals all-time leading scorer Peter Bondra will join the highest-scoring team in the NHL. The Ottawa Sun reports that Capitals GM George McPhee is just waiting for owner Ted Leonsis to approve the Senators' offer of a first- or second-round pick in exchange for Bondra.

Tampa Bay Lightning: Tampa Bay's Nikolai Khabibulin bluntly described his past four games. "It wasn't really that pretty," the Lightning goalie told the St. Petersburg Times before adding that he thinks he'll turn things around soon. The question is whether that will be with the Lightning or some other team.

Toronto Maple Leafs: Toronto's defensive corps is hurting and acquiring Washington's Sergei Gonchar would certainly give the team a lift. But first Maple Leafs defenseman Ken Klee, a former Capital himself, hopes to provide some help soon if his abdominal injury has healed sufficiently.
