Smith suspension reduced to five spring practices
MADISON, Wis. -- Wisconsin tailback Dwayne Smith had his indefinite suspension reduced to five spring practices by an appeals committee, one week after being charged with second-degree sexual assault.
Committee members on Wednesday determined that Smith was involved in conduct unbecoming a Wisconsin student-athlete. They said witness testimony and information contradicted the nature of the allegations. The committee also said additional information might cause them to re-evaluate their decision.
