Defense further bolstered with signing

FRISCO, Texas -- The Dallas Stars signed free-agent defenseman Lubomir Sekeras of the Swedish league on Tuesday for the rest of the season.

"This signing gives us eight capable defensemen as we head into the playoffs," general manager Doug Armstrong said.

The former Minnesota Wild player will join Dallas after completing his immigration paperwork, the team said.

The move came a day after the Stars acquired defenseman Chris Therien from the Philadelphia Flyers for two draft picks. ...
