Tampa Bay Lightning: Did you expect better than 32 goals and 66 points out of Tampa Bay's Vincent Lecavalier in his sixth NHL season? You're not alone because the self-critical 23-year-old Lightning center puts more pressure on himself than anyone else does.

Colorado Avalanche: While the Avalanche wait to see if they lost Paul Kariya for any length of time after he hurt his ankle Sunday, they did get some good news that forward Alex Tanguay might be ready to return for Game 1 against Dallas. Tanguay missed the final 11 games of the regular season.

Detroit Red Wings: Paying defenseman Nicklas Lidstrom $10 million a year for two seasons in the new economy that emerges whenever a new collective bargaining agreement might prove to be costly for the Red Wings. But as far as Detroit is concerned, not as costly as the risk of losing him to unrestricted free agency if they hadn't re-signed him over the weekend.
