American League

Tampa Bay Devil Rays: Rocco Baldelli is showing signs of snapping out of his early-season slump. Baldelli still has only one home run and three RBI's, but he has gone 8-for-21 in his past six games, raising his batting average to .258. The Cumberland, R.I., resident will look to continue his recent output in Boston as the Rays begin a nine-game road trip.

Detroit Tigers: Although the Tigers have started the season in impressive fashion, boasting a record of 11-9 through 20 games, the real test will come over the next couple of weeks. Detroit opened a three-game series against the Angels on Tuesday night, from whom many expect great things. The Tigers play 24 straight against the A.L. West, shaping up to be on the premier divisions in baseball. When the dust settles, they could be knocked back to reality.
