San Jose Sharks: By going back to what got them here, the Sharks put aside any pressure Colorado had built in winning the past two games and dominated the series-clinching 3-1 victory over the Avalanche in Game 6 on Tuesday night. "The best game we played all year. ... We just went at them, and what's the word, I can't remember the word I'm looking for ... relentless," Sharks head coach Ron Wilson told the San Francisco Chronicle.

Colorado Avalanche: Looking back on last summer's stunning signing, Paul Kariya's one-year, $1.2 million deal wasn't the huge bargain people expected. Because of injuries, the Avalanche only got 51 regular-season games and one playoff game out of the gifted forward. Kariya might have played his final game with Colorado on Tuesday night as he will be highly sought after as an unrestricted free agent July 1.

Calgary Flames: Calgary forward Chris Simon hasn't played since Game 3 of the first round because of a lower-body injury, but the rugged winger believes he might be ready to play Sunday in Game 1 of the Western Conference finals against San Jose.
