RICHMOND, Va. -- The top 20 defensive prospects in Virginia can be summed up in one word, athletic. Even the 300-pound linemen in the Old Dominion State can really move.

It's very difficult to say, who is the top defensive line prospect in the state. It could be Jeff Fitzgerald of Richmond Hermitage, who also stars as a tight end (see Virginia's offensive prospects). Or it could be Hampton Phoebus' Stephen Friday (6-5, 215), who recorded 118 tackles with 17 quarterback sacks and 32 tackles for losses last season. Friday has already been offered by Virginia Tech and Virginia and those two schools lead for his services.
